Starting a new writing system can feel like a lot at once. Give yourself small, repeatable tasks: recognise a few letters, practise their sounds, then use them in a word or phrase.
Bring sounds and letters together
When you meet a new letter, say its sound aloud as you write it. Notice how it looks when it joins another letter. Short vowels can help you read unfamiliar words, so take time to practise them alongside the letters.
Use a few useful phrases
You can start speaking while your reading is still developing. Practise a greeting, your name and a simple question. Reuse the same phrases until they feel familiar, then add one new detail.
Make practice manageable
Try a short session you can repeat regularly. Read a few words, listen to a short passage and say it aloud. Returning to familiar language is part of learning; you do not need new material every time.
