اشترى كريم معطفا عبر الإنترنت لأنه بدا أَنِيقًا في الصورة، وكان سعره أقل من سعر المعاطف في المتاجر. انتظر وصوله ثلاثة أيام، ثم فتح العلبة بحماس. كان اللون جميلا، لكن المعطف كان أَوْسَع مما توقع.
لبسه أمام المرآة، وقال لنفسه إنه يستطيع ارتداء قميص سميك تحته. غير أنه لم يكن مرتاحا، فقرر إعادته. وقبل أن يملأ طلب الْإِرْجَاع، جاءت أخته لزيارته. نظرت إلى المعطف وقالت: «هذا يشبه المعطف الذي يبحث عنه أبي».
اتصلا بأبيهما، وسألاه عن مقاسه، ثم أخذا المعطف إليه. لبسه، فكان مناسبا تماما. أراد أن يدفع ثمنه، لكن كريم قال: «اعتبره هدية مبكرة لعيد ميلادك». عاد كريم إلى البيت بلا معطف جديد، لكنه لم يعد يشعر بأنه اختار اختيارا سيئا.
English translation
Karim bought a coat online because it looked stylish in the photograph and cost less than coats in shops. He waited three days for it to arrive, then eagerly opened the box. The colour was lovely, but the coat was wider than he expected.
He put it on in front of the mirror and told himself he could wear a thick shirt underneath. Still, he was not comfortable, so he decided to return it. Before he filled in the return request, his sister came to visit. She looked at the coat and said, ‘This looks like the coat Dad has been looking for.’
They called their father, asked about his size, and took the coat to him. He put it on, and it fitted perfectly. He wanted to pay for it, but Karim said, ‘Consider it an early birthday present.’ Karim returned home without a new coat, but he no longer felt he had made a bad choice.
